amazon influencer error

This post is just a super quick tip to help if you get this error when applying to the Amazon Influencer program.

The Amazon Influencer program is separate from the Amazon Associates program, which most people are familiar with.

With Amazon Associates, you get access to traditional affiliate links that you can share on your website. You make money when people click the link and then purchase on Amazon.

The Amazon Influencer program is a newer program. You can make videos that are featured on the actual Amazon product page. If people watch your video and then purchase, you earn a commission. The cool part is that you don’t have to drive traffic to Amazon. You get to leverage the traffic Amazon already has.

How to Fix the Error

This error was not straightforward for me. It suggests that my Facebook page is not a live page, but the page was live with 20k followers and high engagement.

So here is what I found. My page was associated with a Facebook Business account. It appears that Amazon doesn’t want to accept Facebook Business Pages. To fix this I did the following:

  1. I disconnected my Instagram account from my Facebook Page from the page settings (not in Facebook Business Manager)
    • This was required because you can remove a page from a business if it is connected to Instagram
  2. I disconnect the page from the business in Business Manager under the Pages section.
  3. I applied to Amazon Influencer Again – It worked this time
  4. I added the page back to the business in the Pages section of Facebook Business Manager
  5. Connected my Instagram account again on the page settings (not in Business Manager)

I hope this helps if you’re experiencing this issue attempting to apply for the Amazon Influencer program.
